A man has died after being hit by a train near his home in the town of Wurzbach, Germany, according to local police.
The 29-year-old man died in the early hours of Sunday morning at a hospital in the city, the local Wurzer Zeitung newspaper reported.
The victim was identified as Martin Poulsen from the southern city of Wuerzburg.
He was a resident of the area and had just been given a divorce, the paper said.
Local police said the train was heading south when it struck the man on the tracks at about 10:30pm local time.
The incident comes amid an increase in reported accidents in Germany, where trains have been the main form of transport for migrants and refugees, which have contributed to a spike in fatalities.
