WASHINGTON – Swaggy P is a former UFC heavyweight champion who has been training with the New Zealand Warriors for months.
P is now the head coach of the team in New York, but he’s not the only former heavyweight champion in the gym.
Swaggar is a regular participant in the training camp, and his performance has been impressive.
He’s won two fights in a row.
His training sessions include drills on everything from cardio and weight lifting to jumping rope and jumping on a horse.
“It’s great because it gives me confidence,” said Swaggar, who is currently ranked in the top 10 in the world.
“In this sport you have to be on the right side of things.”
The New Zealand team has been working on a program to bring athletes from around the world into the United States to compete in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Swags training camp is scheduled to end on May 4, and it will be his first time in the United Kingdom since winning the belt back in December.
